classiccomposition.trinitystreetdirect.com/daisychute/Inspiration: My inspiration for this piece came from my experience singing at St. Mary's Cathedral in Edinburgh as a chorister. Around that time at the age of twelve I was discovering the world of choral music and loving it. A melody came to me with the Magnificat words, and this is the melody which starts the piece. About four to five years later and one year ago I decided to continue the piece with the further musical knowledge I gained, especially through composition lessons at The Purcell School of Music which I attended in the 6th form. From the basis of the beginning melody I decided to create a soundscape that fused not only the traditional choral music that first inspired it but also a rhythmic African sound that I had been introduced to in my music classes. My teacher played us Congotronics, an album made by musicians from Congo and Angola from the bare raw materials around them used as instruments. I wanted to convey this rich texture but with solely voices and try to use more unusual compositional techniques in order to do so. I chose to reduce the original text in order not to over complicate the music. I wanted the rhythms, melodies and textures to be at the forefront. I loved writing the piece and hope to compose a Nunc Dimittis which has a more harmonic focus.Click on the link to find the music player of Magnificat.

It seems every time I turn around, Daisy's talent is manifesting in some new way! Wow... Wouldn't it be neat if future AA CDs were to feature the girls singing Daisy's own compositions?

Hi Everyone,
I have seen this before and yes, Daisy sure is one talented young lady, as are the other girls.
It would certainly be interesting to hear the girls singing compositions by Daisy some time in the future.

Hi Everyone,
It certainly would be interesting to see all four girls become more involved in future albums, whether it be writing, compositions, arrangements or something else.
I probably don't have the knowledge about this sort of thing to be commenting too much, but I think that it is only natural progression for most artists and musicians to want to become more involved in albums.
Perhaps the third album is still a bit too soon, I don't know, it might be the right time, but certainly sometime in the future it would be interesting to see the girls involved more and have more say in their albums.
