Hello!
I received my copy of the album. I am glad to finally have something more than a sample to listen to, now I have the entire CD! The following is a rudimentary review:
Standing ovation for "Angels", "Pokarekare Ana", and "Salve Regina". Applause for "Agnus Dei" and "Windmills Of Your Mind". An honorable mention for "Songbird".
I had always liked the Robbie Williams hit "Angels". The girls softened the beat and made it into a simpler but better song. The flute provided an unexpected and sweet touch. They kept the string portions much the same as in the Williams version, which worked nicely. An excellent rendition.
My first experience with "Pokarekare Ana" had been with Hayley Westenra, and I was perhaps expecting the girls to create something similar. Here a truly beautiful harmony begins, leading into the main part of the song, which features a gentle harp. When I was finished listening to it, I found that I was impressed and inspired. I love the girl's version of this song just as much as I love the version Hayley did.
My favorite classical instrumental piece has always been Pachelbel's Canon. I have loved that song for more than 26 years and I own 5 different versions of it. I was excited to find that the girls had included a variation of this same song.
In conclusion, I liked this album. I look forward to more from them.

Hello Scott, and welcome to the forum. I recognise you from HWI, so it's good to see you posting here as well! I'm glad your CD has arrived, and thank you for your excellent review. I agree that 'Pokarekare Ana' is one of the highlights, and I'm pleased All Angels give it a completely different arrangement from the three versions by Hayley in my CD collection. ;D I'm looking forward to reading all your future posts on both forums. Best Wishes from London, Richard

Richard,
Thank you. I have discovered that 'Pokarekare Ana' is one of my favorite songs, no matter who sings it. It is a credit to Hayley and to All Angels that they have brought such beauty into my life.

Well said, Scott. I think many of us here feel the same way.

Hi! While I was in the UK for Hayley's Christmas Presence I took the opportunity to buy my CD of the All Angels in Cardiff last Saturday at Virgin. I love the CD! When I prelistened the CD at iTunes before I was a little afraid that this CD could be a little too classical for me. But fortuneately I was wrong! ;D I love it!!! My favorites are "Songbird" and "Windmills Of Your Mind". I asked the salesman at Virgin if he has ever heard something of the 14-tracks-verion which iTunes UK is offering with "Amazing Grace" as track number 14. But it seems that this album hasn't been released yet as a CD. I hope All Angels will perform with Hayley at the same venue again like they did at Cadogan Hall in September. That would make it easier for me to attend again one of their concerts as well. Thomas
