Well, I'm surprised at upstaging Dave, but maybe he'll post simultaneously or shortly with far more authoritative detail. Peter S. Hehe, have no fear Peter, I shall try my hardest hard to think up something authoritative to say about it! But first, I have a lot of work to do updating that chart - which is from what I can tell for the year to date upto 16th December. Obviously it cannot be for the full year anyway, because albums are still being sold in 2006, as I write this. If All Angels sold another 150,000 copies this week they could end up top classical album of the year! Well done to , for finishing 4th at Classic FM... great result!! Cheers, Dave

Hi Dave, I heard the latter part of the Classic FM countdown this morning and everything Peter has said is as broadcast. However, the Classic FM website paints a slightly different picture, putting All Angels 3rd!
Roger

How come whenever I search All Angels on the iTunes it does not come up with the quartet All Angels? Any suggestions?

Hi Roger, Because the chart on their website is the normal weekly chart... for Christmas week as it happens! Normally, we don't get the Christmas week chart at all (because of the chart of the year and everywhere else shuts down) so I am very pleased to see that on their website! Here is the top 10 of the Classic FM Chart of the Year (I recorded the programme then typed the whole top 30 into my spreadsheet): 01 Katherine Jenkins - Serenade 02 Fron Male Voice Choir - Voices Of The Valley 03 Russell Watson - The Voice-The Ultimate Collection 04 All Angels - All Angels05 Various Artists - The Classical Album 2007 06 Various Artists - Classic FM At The Movies 07 Hayley Westenra - Odyssey SE 08 Katherine Jenkins - Living A Dream 09 Katherine Jenkins - Second Nature 10 Various Artists - The Classic FM Most Wanted By the end of the year, there will be some changes in the final classical chart because Fron Choir has already surpassed Katherine Jenkins in sales. All Angels are close behind Russell Watson but I don't think they can catch him by the end of the year - however, if they had released a week earlier, they may well have caught him to finish 3rd... howz about that for four "learner" Angels? Kristyn, I will look at the iTunes thing in a minute and report back... I have no problems finding them on iTunes UK. Cheers, Dave

How come whenever I search All Angels on the iTunes it does not come up with the quartet All Angels? Any suggestions? Hi Kristyn, I have no trouble finding on UK iTunes all the tracks and albums All Angels have released in the UK. But when I change my 'Country' to the USA, nothing is found, as you noticed. I assume this is because All Angels have not yet released anything in the US! They are not mentioned in a few other iTunes Country sites I checked, such as France and NZ so unless you are able to buy stuff from UK iTunes (I bet they block you!), it looks like you are out of luck for the moment. You should be able to look at their track details, chart positions etc. and listen to samples on UK iTunes (assuming you can switch countries like I can). Does that make sense? Cheers, Dave

Hi- Thanks for the help. I'm going to try to get a few songs downloaded. It won't let me buy the songs because I'm in the US, bu I bought a 15 pound gift card to iTunes...if it doesn't let me buy I have a friend who will help me who lives in the uk...lol.
Thanks Kristyn

Hi guys,
In the final best seller lists for UK albums in 2006, All Angels finished at no. 4 in the classical chart (and no. 95 in the main album chart, info from Haven), selling about 206,000 copies.
It is still at no. 3 in the weekly classical charts and is also inside the main album chart at no. 72, after 8 weeks.

Hello everyone and especially Comet,
To answer a recent question in the Welcome board, All Angels hasn't really done much at all in the Irish charts. The album entered the classical top 10 at no. 5 a few weeks before Christmas and spent 6 weeks in there last year but I don't think it's been in the chart at all this year. So most people in Ireland who like that sort of music won't have it and perhaps the re-release will do better. I hope so!
Cheers, Dave

The current Classic FM Chart includes a Various Artists compilation entitled "Classical Great" at #3. This album includes a track by All Angels. The presenter of this mornings countdown announced that their own debut album has now sold 250,000 copies!
YAY! Congratulations, Charlotte, Daisy, Laura and Melanie. :applaud: :applaud: :applaud: :applaud:

Hi Richard, This is a competition like Roger did at HWI, right? But first, you have to guess the question? Well my guess is that Steve Abbott is the egg at the bottom, jumping highest - and that's because he's drunk the whole of the bottle of champagne he's holding, not just a glass of it... right? Thanks for this information Roger, I am assuming that the 250,000 is for shipments, which are probably just being made for the re-release. I wish it could have been 300,000 because that would have made a platinum disc. I bet they are saving that one for a Christmas present! So it's Three Cheers for Four Angels and I shall update the scrolly news banner and "All Angels Go GOLD" thread accordingly but I'd better back date it to yesterday or else nobody will believe me! Cheers, Dave

Hi Dave,
Yes, I assumed it was shipments too but that's not what was said. Then again, perhaps they wouldn't say that on the radio because they don't expect the majority of their listeners to be familiar with the term.
Richard, if Dave is going to play with the scrolly news banner, your eggs are in danger of becoming an omelette!
Roger

Here is today's top 5 at Amazon UK Classical section:
1. Serenade - Katherine Jenkins £4.96 (Classical Brits - and it's very cheap!) 2. Songs from the Labyrinth ~ Sting £8.98 (Classical Brits) 3. All Angels ~ All Angels £8.98 (Classical Brits) 4. Voices of the Valley ~ The Fron Male Voice Choir £8.98 (Classical Brits) 5. Ecce cor meum ~ Paul McCartney £9.98 (Classical Brits)
Interesting!
The special edition of All Angels download album is no 2 classical album at iTunes UK.
Cheers, Dave
