X-Factor judge Simon Cowell was clearly on to something when he said the angelic sound of choristers was the music of the moment. In fact angels have become something of a recurring theme just recently.
Soaring in on the heels of Cowell’s own songsters, Angelis, are All Angels, an all-female quartet with a background in choral music. Melanie, Laura, Daisy and Charlotte, all aged 16 and 17, were selected following an extensive nationwide search of schools, choirs and music schools. Their debut single Songbird is launched by Universal on November 6, followed by their debut album All Angels a week later.
Meanwhile, internationally acclaimed boy vocal group Libera who have performed with the likes of Pavarotti and Elton John, have launched their third album, Angel Voices (EMI Classics). The south London youngsters aged between 7 and 14 perform new material as well as old favourites including the much-loved carol Silent Night.
