They dub themselves "the first all-girl classical supergroup". But the new band "All Angels" hopes to grab the world's attention by singing pop classics. Let's head to London, and hear if their sound is as heavenly as the name suggests.
The group consists of four members, all between 16 and 17, with very disparate backgrounds. They were complete strangers before the auditions. But after a few rounds the field was narrowed, leaving only these four.
Their new c-d single has three tracks, "Angels," originally by Robbie Williams, James Taylor's "You've Got a Friend" and the classic carol "Silent Night". It goes to release on Monday with some proceeds promised to the Royal British Legion, a group which looks after soldiers returning from tours of duty.
All Angels are the latest act to do pop-classical fusion, following in the footsteps of G-4, Bond, Vanessa Mae, The Planets, and Il Divo.
The girls entered the pop charts at number eight, when 33,000 copies of their debut album sold in just one week. And the future looks brighter still.
