Thanks for the video, Dave! I recognised the melody as 'Lord of the Dance', and Daisy sang beautifully! I can't tell from Channel 4's website whether Daisy will appear in the remaining three programmes of the series, but I hope she does. I've posted a link to the videos on All Angels' Official Forum, because that was where I read about the programme. Best Wishes, Richard

I recognised the melody as 'Lord of the Dance', and Daisy sang beautifully! Best Wishes, Richard Ah, but 'Lord of the Dance' was composed in 1963 by Sydney Carter (1915-2004) and is merely an adaptation of the Shaker tune 'Simple Gifts' (which is what Daisy sang). For some reason, LOTD is accepted and acknowledged as a separate copyright in its own right (see: www.stainer.co.uk/lotd.html). To further complicate matters, the original tune was *borrowed* by Aaron Copeland and is incorporated into his Appalachian Spring symphony (1955). Borrowed? Did he ever give it back? Needless to say, I like Daisy's version as much as any. Roger

Very well sung indeed. The programme itself was very interesting - that was the first time I've heard Howard Goodall sing as well. x
