Thanks for the article Steve. I think the quote from Laura should have been "We aren't expecting anything..." If they should win, they're allowed to giggle! Roger

Hello everybody! I had a great night at the Classical Brit Awards last night. I need a bit more time to put my thoughts together, but meanwhile here is a great photograph of All Angels arriving at the Royal Albert Hall, from the Evening Standard. Click on the link to see more photographs from the Royal Albert Hall. More from me later... Richard

Hello again everybody! This was my first visit to the Classical Brit Awards, so I didn't really know what to expect, but I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I was at the Royal Albert Hall in good time to see the celebrity guests arriving. Katherine Jenkins was the first to appear in an open horse-drawn carriage which pulled into the car park. Shortly afterwards All Angels arrived in another horse-drawn carriage, and I met the girls briefly when the carriage stopped at the entrance gate. Other stars arrived in limousines, and I recognised Sarah Brightman, Julian Lloyd Webber, Myleene Klass, Alison Balsom and Sting amongst others. I was there to support All Angels, so I'm not going to write a full report of the concert, but the whole show was outstanding. All the artists were accompanied by the London Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Christopher Warren-Green, and the Duchess of Cornwall was in attendance. Instrumental highlights included violinist Joshua Bell, who played the third movement of 'Summer' from Vivaldi's Four Seasons, and pianist Lang Lang, who played the finale from Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No.1. There were some excellent singers. Katherine Jenkins sang 'World In Union' with the Fron Male Voice Choir, who then gave a moving performance of the Welsh National Anthem 'Land Of My Fathers', Juan Diego Flórez gave a stirring rendition of 'Granada', and Alfie Boe and Natasha Marsh sang the 'Brindisi' from La Traviata. My favourite solo performance of the whole show was Natasha Marsh's beautiful English version of 'Mein Herr Marquis' ('Laughing Song') from Die Fledermaus. All Angels gave a stunning performance of 'Sancte Deus', to the tune of 'Nimrod' from Elgar's Enigma Variations, followed by 'Steal Away' sung a cappella. Their four-part harmonies sounded more beautiful than ever in the fine acoustics of the Royal Albert Hall, and they looked very professional, slowly changing places with each other as they sang. They were very well received by the audience, and for me they were the best performers of the evening. Sadly the girls failed to win the 'Album of the Year' award, which went to Sir Paul McCartney for his Ecce Cor Meum, recorded by the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields. It was a very enjoyable event, and some photographs will be posted by our intrepid Staff Photographers Steve and Stuart soon. ;D Best Wishes, Richard

Hello everyone, Thanks for your report Richard, the only think I'd add at this stage is that magnificent as All Angels were, every bit as good and exciting too, was the performance of Lang Lang playing the final movement of Tchaikwsky's Piano Concerto no. 1. It nearly blew me right out of my seat and it got thunderous applause. Wow! But All Angels were superb and I am sure many of the most hard-bitten classical purists must have been won over - even shocked - by their flawless and beautiful performance! However, I'm here now to post the first few of the photos that I took on the night - starting on stage, during their performance itself. I was seated to the left of the stage in the second row of the side stalls. Although in fact, this one photo has become five. As you will soon see! All Angels singing "Sancta Dei" (Nimrod)

I just LOVE how they arrived in a horse-drawn carriage! And their gowns - simple black and white, but very gorgeous!
It sounds as though everyone had a great time. I can't wait to hear more reports! <3 Caite

I can't wait to hear more reports! <3 Caite I second that! Excellent report and scans, guys. I still don't know how you all get beautiful pictures without being thrown to the curb. :jester: But so far as you all are able to manage that risk carefully, keep it up! We love it!! And I am so glad that the audience fully welcomed and received the group. No doubt this will help their exposure. Best of luck, girls!! (Not you, Richard, Dave, or Steve) :jester: Well, I mean best of luck to you guys too, but not referring to you as "of the female gender." Errr....never mind. ;D Way to go, Charlotte, Melanie, Laura, and Daisy!! Love, Eric
