A vocal quartet has mounted a campaign outside the Bank of England to keep composer Elgar on the £20 note.
All Angels sang an arrangement of Elgar's Nimrod outside the Bank of England in central London, until they were moved along by security.
The group, Charlotte Ritchie, 17, Melanie Nakhla, 18, Laura Wright, 16 and Daisy Chute, 17, said: "Elgar was a Great Briton, and to have him taken off the £20 note in the 150th anniversary year of his birth is wrong.
"For someone so central to our culture to be taken out of circulation just when he should be being celebrated is an outrage. We hope we can make the Bank of England reconsider their decision."
The Bank of England's decision has even led one MP to table a House of Commons motion against the move.
All Angels, who have performed for the Queen, had the fastest-selling classical debut ever and have been nominated for Album of the Year at the Classical Brits.
Elgar is the composer of Land Of Hope And Glory - the final piece performed at the Last Night of the Proms - as well as the Elgar Cello Concerto and Nimrod, from his Enigma Variations, heard at services on Remembrance Sunday.
