Hello everybody!
I've just discovered some interesting information about the new edition of All Angels' album, and I think this deserves its own thread. Their version of 'Pie Jesu' was composed by none other than Classic FM's John Brunning, and there is a feature on Classic FM's website:-

So now we know what the girls were up to in Prague! Even more interestingly, this piece is featured in the Classic FM Most Wanted voting list for the weekend, so let's all vote and get All Angels in the Most Wanted chart on Monday.

Good luck girls, and John Brunning! ;D
I'm also going to post a red alert in the Classic FM's Most Wanted thread.

John Brunning In All Angels CD
We caught up with Classic FM's very own presenter John Brunning and asked him a few questions about his composition 'Pie Jesu', featured on the All Angels' special edition CD.
The piece is beautifully simplistic. Tell me what you wished to achieve aurally/technically with this work?
There's a real shortage of new material in the classical crossover market. It seems very few composers write memorable melodies these days, so I decided to try my hand. Simple and direct are good words in my book!
When did you compose this piece?
I wrote 'Pie Jesu' just over a year ago. The All Angels connection came about through a discussion I had with their manager, Steve Abbott. At that point, the girls didn't even have a collective name! Steve told me he was intending to record an album with them, and played me a rough demo recording. I put my composing hat on, came up with 'Pie Jesu', and after some late-night fine-tuning, the piece was "in the can". It was recorded in January with the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra.
Are you pleased with the performance by All Angels?
I think they have done a stunning job. I must also thank John Langley, who orchestrated 'Pie Jesu' and made it work for four voices. Of course, I am delighted it is getting played on Classic FM, but I made a point of not trying to "influence" the powers that be at the radio station - the piece has to stand on its own merits.
Any other works on the horizon?
Definitely. I have several new pieces in the pipeline and am really enjoying writing music again.
The All Angels CD will be released on 14 May.
