Aaah! What's happened to the jester? Peter S. Hi Peter, I had wondered if we should include some additional smilie faces. The ones that are currently available are part of the default settings. Any additional ones must be added manually. I wouldn't mind using *some* that we have at HWI but there are a few that I wouldn't mind losing. Would anyone like a few extra smiling faces? Roger

Hi Roger, I think its a great idea, ;D but I think it would be good to add 'positive' rather than 'negative' smilies. I like you new Avatar, it changed while I was posting, which prompted me to do the same! Beat Wishes Steve H

Hi Steve, It was only when I noticed Richard's avatar that I realised I didn't have one! Perhaps I should have asked the photographer's permission first but, as that was me, I'm was afraid I might refuse! We'll take a look around for a few more smilies in the next few days. There you are, Richard, I'm back on topic. I'm getting the hang of this job! Roger

Well done Roger! I think a few more smilies would be welcome, but let's stick to jolly ones, please! ;D Best Wishes, Richard (They can be copied from HWI, but it's a fiddly process!)

Thank you everyone for all the positive responses regarding my suggestion we should have some smilies. - I agree we want happy ones.
- I agree we don't simply 'download' en masse. Let's build as demand arises. I love the 'exit stage left boot', the angel and the clapping hands. Who ever has sought these out, thank you. you have done well.
- Not strictly this thread but i didn't think it worth creating a new one, but Mods can over-rule as they think fit I think it is right that we take the experience gained from HWI and re-interpret it where there are alternatives. So, this is a SUGGESTION which does not need an immediate response and it may be the Mods etc are pacing things to see how matters pan out. I personally miss the opportunity to click on the last 30 posts automatically. However, there is the search button which I suppose one can use as with HWI, so why provide a default?
Merely a point of observation at this stage. There was periodic debate on HWI about how many ought to be available any way and perhaps the discipline of using the search function more meaningfully individually is sufficient. I suppose I'm just re-adjusting to a new site.
