Official bio:
Emilia was born in London in 1995 and was Christened at St Paul’s Cathedral. She learnt singing at The Study Prep School in Wimbledon which has inspired so many tracks on her album. At the age of nine she was asked to sing before HRH Princess Anne at a huge fundraising event for the British Olympic Sailing Team. Her “Rule Britannia” rendition from someone so small got a standing ovation and the Gold Medalist Ben Ainsley had to stoop low to present her bouquet!
Emilia auditioned and was chosen to join the Cathedral Choir in Salisbury by the Director of Music, Simon Lole, who now runs the highly successful group All Angels.
During the summer of 2004 Emilia sang at a wedding and was thrilled when one of the ushers signed her programme – it was signed “Brilliant singing - love Will Young”!
In 2006 Emilia toured with the choir to Venice and many of the great cathedrals including Cremona, Bologna, Modena, Verona and Padova. Shortly after, Emilia was invited as a soloist to sing at a palace in Florence where she sang Nella Fantasia and Panis Angelicus. Her recording of Nella Fantasia has recently been sent to the grammy-winning composer Ennio Morricone in Rome by Sony BMG who were keen that he should hear it. At this time Emilia was invited to record the opening soundtrack of a film by Ricky Tomlinson called Learning to Walk.
In August 2007 Emilia had some time to record her debut solo album and now it is finished and pressed.
In January 2007 Emilia was described by Hello Magazine as the “New Classical Sensation” (link) In 2008 Emilia tours Vienna and Salzburg in her final year with the Cathedral Choir which she leaves with a music scholarship to her next school.
In the Summer of 2008 Emilia will again perform for the Princess Royal, The Chinese Ambassador and the British Olympic Sailing Team but this time backed by the band of H.M.’s Royal Marines.
Recent events have moved swiftly since the local release of her album. This has included an article in The Salisbury Journal, a television documentary with Meridien TV, interviews and airplay with BBC Wiltshire, Radio 2 and Spirefm and a three minute news film on Vision News-TV. The album was selected by John Lewis/Waitrose as CD of the week and she now has an international licensing deal with a major classical label, Signum Classics, who will re-package in June 2008 with a major launch.
In September 2008 Emilia starts her promotional concert tour with The Esterhazy Orchestra and will appear at Wilton House for a charity event.
