Hi Martin and Grant, The url pointing to the ProBoards Home page is a very recent development. I don't know what that tells us but have asked the question. Roger Hi Roger and everyone, I think it may be because The Planet's temporary backup generator for datacenter phase 1 (where server 20 is located) has recently failed. If they were in the middle of a data copy, it may have produced unexpected results (even though the new server is located elsewhere). They are evaluating the repair time and searching for a replacement generator as when you are using the backup, there is no backup! Let's hope all the data was copied across before the backup power failed. I believe the new server is located elsewhere however, that doesn't help much until they've got the data from the old server 20. Grant, there shouldn't be any downtime when they eventually get their main transformer room rebuild (next weekend or the one after) because the new servers are located somewhere else. Looks like we are going to be one of the last 4 servers to be restored Have any of our US friends got a spare generator? Cheers, Dave

Hi Dave, I am sure you're right but that means that Patrick's message saying that 20 was now copying was made after the generator failure. I therefore got excited... but it didn't last for long. Roger

Hi Roger, Well maybe it copied successfully and they are doing some reconfiguring of the new server before returning it to service? You never know... and I live in hope! Cheers, Dave

Server 29 has come online in the past 30 minutes. I have searched for a forum which uses 29 and it appears to be up to date (with posts dated 31 May, shortly before the time of the explosion).
Server 29 was copying at the same time as ours (and a couple of others). Indications are that ours could complete fairly soon.

Hello folks! I'm seeing the Proboards Home page too. If anybody wants something to read while waiting for the restoration of HWI, the July edition of Classic FM Magazine is now in the shops. It has a major feature about this year's Classical Brit Awards, including some very interesting comments from Hayley. Richard

Hello folks! The HWI Forum has just come back with posts up to 31st May. I won't attempt to post anything until Roger or Dave gives the all clear. Richard

We are back online but I have temporarily put the forum into Maintenance Mode. I will take a quick look around to ensure that everything is as it should be before returning it to view. That shouldn;t take more than 15 minutes or so. All being well, it should be fully operational.

Hi Roger and Richard,
The good news (so it appears) is that by being one of the last servers to be restored, we have missed out the intermediate step of an April backup followed by a full restore - looks like everything is there to the end of May.
I hope that you don't find anything odd in there, Roger (apart from me! :jester: )
Cheers, Dave

Phew! It's good to see the forum back online. After a brief look it looks as though everything has been restored to normal! Of course I won't post anything until we get clearance from our admins. Stephany
