Several members of the HWI Forum attended a concert in Cadogan Hall, London this evening. It was a charity event to raise money for Hemihelp in the presence of HRH Princess Alexandra. There were performances by many young musicians, some of whom were victims of hemiplegia and all of whom were excellent. Top of the bill was Hayley Westenra who performed one song from each of her three international albums. Details of her performance will appear on the HWI Forum in due course. Shortly after the programme began, Charlotte Ritchie gave a reading - a poem by an unknown author. When she left the stage, she came down the steps into the auditorium and sat in the empty seat immediately in front of me! I spoke to her briefly during the interval when she mentioned that All Angels will be appearing at the Classical Brit Awards in May, and she said there would be some concert appearances in the summer. These are not yet fully confirmed but details will appear on the 'Schedule' board as soon as they are available. I know Steve and Stuart got some superb shots of Charlotte which I am sure will be posted here in the coming days. Roger

Roger forgot to mention that, after the show as the performers were drifting homewards, Charlotte returned to the cluster of AAI and HWI members to say goodnight and "Thankyou for all your support". This young lady will certainly graduate from the Bedlam School for Angels with a distinction.
Good luck to all of you Angels at the Royal Albert Hall and good luck with your other exams.

Charlotte was indeed very thoughtful last night, coming up to Steve and I before we had even seen her, to say Hi and thank us for our support. Here's a picture of Charlotte reading a poem at the start of the evening. Charltte with Hayley during the finale

I was privilaged to meet and chat to Charlotte's dad at the event. All the Angels are apparently very excited about performing at the Classical Britts. Here are some more pictures from this event. Stuart

Hi Raven,
According to the programme, it was called 'Plain English' by an unknown author. It was not familiar to me but Charlotte read it very well.

Hello folks,
Sorry for the delay in posting but here are some pictures of Charlotte, and some with Hayley. Unfortunately I did not get any of Charlotte reading her poem, and she was first on, and I was watching for the Camera Police. Steve H

We were very lucky that the Finale took so long, we were able to get plenty of shots with quite good lighting.Steve H

Warning When I am an old woman I shall wear purple With a red hat which doesn't go, and doesn't suit me. And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves And satin sandlas, and say we've no money for butter. I shall sit down on the pavement when I'm tired And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells And run my stick along the public railings And make up for the sobriety of my youth. I shall go out in my slippers in the rain And pick flowers in other people's gardens And learn to spit.
You can wear terrible shirts and grow more fat And eat three pounds of sausages at a go Or only bread and pickle for a week And hoard pens and pencils and beermats and things in boxes.
But now we must have clothes that keep us dry And pay our rent and not swear in the street And set a good example for the children. We must have friends to dinner and read the papers.
But maybe I ought to practice a little now? So people who know me are not too shocked and surprised When suddenly I am old, and start to wear purple.
Jenny Joseph Does this sound familiar Roger, Richard, Stuart, Steve?

Thanks Drew! I'm fairly certain that is the poem Charlotte read, so it must have been changed after the programme was printed. I might need to amend my review at HWI! Best Wishes, Richard
