The Royal British Legion 90th Anniversary celebrations in Spain

To celebrate 90 years of since the creation of the British Legion, now The Royal British Legion.

Venue: Auditorio de Diputacion de Alicante.

Time: There will be 2 performances, at 12.00pm and 7.00pm

Cost: Midday concert tickets are €8 and the evening concert €12.

The concerts will be along the lines of the Festival of Remembrance held annually at the Albert Hall. It is hoped that the VIPs will include representatives of the British Royal Family, the Spanish Royal Family, staff from the Consulates in Alicante and British Attaches.

The entertainment will include "All Angels" and Ruth Lorenzo, several choirs and bands, including the Pipes and Drums. Also possibly a Spanish Army display team. There will be more. Branches will be given first allocation of tickets.

Branches in District North can parade their Standards (if they have one).

That's interesting, Alice hinted to me on Facebook a while ago about a concert in Spain in 2011.

There is plenty of time to plan and save for it for those interested in going!

Before you book your flights and hotels please wait for TCB to confirm the date. The date is my estimate as it is not actually stated on the RBL website (and they have not finished building the venue yet so they do not list their events!). I have quoted the day when the Royal Albert Hall would hold their Festival of Remembrance.

I was on Poppy duty last November (inspired by Hayley Westenra) and expect to continue with my duties next November.
