Line-up announced for Rowchester Festival
Event will raise cash for Teenage Cancer Trust
AFTER a stellar 2009, the Rowchester Music Festival returns for 2010 on July 17 and 18, this year supporting the charity Teenage Cancer Trust.
The event's line up has just been confirmed and it features a strong collection of emerging bands and solo artists performing a wide range of music.
And to accommodate the diverse mix of artists, there will two stages, with an acoustic stage alongside the main stage.
The Gillyflowers, Jakil and local band The Dull Fudds are all returning to play on the Saturday with Daisy Chute and the Crooked Fiddle Band headlining on the Sunday.
Set in the beautiful surroundings of Rowchester House, Greenlaw, the festival has loads going on over the two days with dance performances, a well-being area, poetry readings and a wide range of food and drink on offer.
Children will be fully entertained with story telling, art classes, football, face painting and all sorts of fun and games.
Organisers have also decided to divide the camping site into two zones with a 'Quiet Area' for those families who want some peace and quiet!
Talking to 'In The Limelight' about this year's festival, organiser, Leonard Harper Gow, said: "Last year's festival was a great success – around 1000 people bought tickets and created a terrific atmosphere.
"With two stages this time, we have an excellent line up of bands and solo artists on both days. After brilliant performances at the festival last year we have The Gillyflowers and Jakil returning once again.
"We also have some fantastic acts playing for the first time, Atmostheatre, The Warehouse Announcement and Daisy Chute."
