Just listened to it for the second time at lunch.
Definitely not as Classically oriented as the other two. But no less enjoyable. And with songs like "Blowin' In The Wind", "Send In The Clowns" and the Porgy And Bess medley I see what was meant by the American influence referred to in another post.
I love "Fly Away".........until the big choir comes in. Not sure why who ever made the decision to add them thought it was necessary. For me that detracts from the song instead of enhancing it. Could be part of the American influence adding a Gospel type choir I guess.
Also really like "Blowin' In The Wind", "Come Away With Me", "Somewhere" and "Dark Is The Color...."
While this CD is a departure from the first two, I enjoyed it very much. But if I was forced to pick only 2 of their CD's to be stranded on an island with, I think "Fly Away" would be left behind.

But if I was forced to pick only 2 of their CD's to be stranded on an island with, I think "Fly Away" would be left behind. I would be interested to hear whether you still think the same in a week's time, Harold. That was about the time it took me to amend my Amazon review from four stars to five. My two "must have"s would now be 'Into Paradise' and 'Fly Away'. The big choir doesn't spoil the first track for me, but I don't think it adds very much either. Drew's video from Leicester Square shows an arrangement without the choir. That was the first time I heard the Angels sing that song to a live music accompaniment instead of a recording, and I think it was their best performance.
