World class open-air concerts at Nacton

ORWELL Park next to Orwell Park School in Nacton, is to host three world class open air picnic-style concerts in July next year.

The first confirmed concert will be on Sunday, July 13 and will be a classical Last Night of The Proms spectacular concert with the London Gala Festival Orchestra conducted by Stephen Bell.

As well as firework spectacular finale and a stunning Spitfire flyover display, there will be special guest appearances from teenage phenomenon All Angels which features 18-year-old Laura Wright of Framlingham College.

All Angels first album released last year was nominated debut album of the year and was the biggest selling classical album of all time.

The concert also features classical diva Hayley Westenra

Hi Drew,

This is what was in the EADT this morning, This will be a great event for me as I only live a little way north of Ipswich. The only down side is that I will be at Farnborough Air Show all the following week Monday - Friday! but at least I won't have far to go to get home!

Even though it is yet to be confirmed I may well go ahead and book tickets anyway this week. Just need to check a few things first.

As luck would have it Katherine Jenkins is performing near Norwich on the 12th, so that is my two favorite singers and favourite band performing in the same region on the same weekend! What a weekend that could be!

I have booked tickets and I will be going along with the person I will be attending Katherine's concert, even though it is not confirmed that All Angels or Hayley will be attending we have decided that we will attend anyway and make a weekend of it in East Anglia.

I was just thinking the same thing! It's the weekend after Wimbledon finishes, and the one before the open part of Farnborough.. so might be perfect for me

Just wonder if I can convince the girlfriend that she won't see me for three or four weeks - two weeks at Wimbledon, then seeing the girls, then Farnborough.. hee!

I really hope that I can convince my parents to let me go to this but it may be very hard to do so, as it is quite far away! It looks really really good. Plus the money aswell. lol.

It is a fair distance to travel, especially from London or Bedfordshire where I'm working.. but the drive should be nice, with good music to go with
