Angels are hoping for a hit
A new girl band featuring a Shropshire teenager today announced the release of their debut single. All Angels are hoping their cover of Songbird, the famous Fleetwood Mac hit, will take the charts by storm.
Recorded with a simple piano backing, it will be released on October 16 as part of the Schools Top Ten during National Music Week and then go on general release on November 6.
The group of public schoolgirls, is made up of 17-year-old Melanie Nakhla who grew up in Shrewsbury, Charlotte Ritchie, 17, Laura Wright 16, and Daisy Chute, 17. Melanie, a former Prestfelde School pupil is currently studying in Buckinghamshire where she is head of the choir.www.shropshirestar.co.uk/2006/09/angels-are-hoping-for-a-hit/© 2006 - all rights reserved Shropshire Star

Thanks for posting the article, Drew! It's good to see the press taking an interest, even if it's only at local level at the moment. I see there is a photograph with the article, so I'll post it here. Best Wishes, Richard
