Awww I can't wait for this to be released!!! :applaud: I caught an edited version of the video for this song on VH1 earlier today!!! ;D Needless to say it was very moving with the references to The Poppy Appeal contained with in the video, but it is indeed stunning and the Angels look simply.... Angelic!!! ;D Well Done Girls!!

Thank you for the reminder, Richard. I have pre-ordered the single from HMV.co.uk who have confirmed that my order has been dispached. Hopefully, it will arrive tomorrow. Interestingly, at the time of ordering, the tracklisting which appeared on their site named three songs: 'Angels', 'Silent Night' and 'You've Got A Friend' (and it still does). However, recent media coverage has only named the first two tracks and the girls themselves only mentioned those two when we saw them in Covent Garden last week. I hope 'You've Got A Friend' is included as I already have the other two tracks on the album. I will let you know as soon as it arrives. Roger

...recorded at Westminster Abbey on Saturday (well we all think it deserves to be No.1). I am so sorry that the video of the four tracks that the Angels performed is not suitable for broadcast so I shall (hopefully) include the soundtrack of the two tracks that we we not previously heard. (Explanation in Chorister if the Year thread.) Many thanks for the link - excellent singing from the girls, what a sound Nicky Edited by Dave to remove the actual link, we can all buy the single now!

Woolworths are the first to produce their new chart this week and have placed the "Angels" single at no. 9 in their chart... which means they are definitly going to be stocking it! Information from Haven and Buzzjack. I did a check at Amazon UK on Sunday and although they do not have a singles chart, Angels was... coincidentally... the 9th highest ranking single in their overall rankings! So while clearly, Woolworths do not expect Angels to reach or get close to no. 1 (I didn't either) it certainly has a good chance of making the top 10 and this will be a real achievement if it happens. This or a similar placing (if followed by other stores) should ensure plenty of airplay for Angels this week and that will benefit the album (which slipped a few places this week) too. Fingers crossed for Dave

Roger Hi Roger, Well You've Got A Friend is available now for download at 7digital and the preview sounds gorgeous!!! It very much sounds tailor made for Daisy - who was singing on the preview. I can't wait to get it and it'd better be on the CD single, too!

Hello everybody! I've just bought my copy of the CD single in HMV for £2.99, and it is also available in Virgin Megastores at the same price. There are four tracks on the CD:- 1: Angels - Radio Edit (3.18) 2: Silent Night (3.14) 3: You've Got A Friend (3.44) 4: Angels - Video Clip (3.16) Note, the video clip can only be played on a computer, not on a DVD player. Best Wishes, Richard

I hope you manage to get one, Jeffrey. I heard they were selling well in your area this morning! Only kidding!
Mine arrived this afternoon. The first track is listed as 'Angels - Radio Edit'. I have only heard it once but any difference between this and the album version wasn't obvious.
'You've Got A Friend' is a nice additional to their repertoire and, as Dave said, it is a good showcase for Daisy's wonderful voice.
Let us know what you think, Jeffrey.
Roger

Hi Roger, I'm sorry to report that I failed miserably to get the four miles to my nearest shop that sells singles yesterday (Tesco!) but I shall succeed later today According to iTunes, the single (EP as they describe it) version of Angels is a whole minute shorter than the album version! May I assume that you are so wrapped up in it by the end that you completely lose track of time? Cheers, Dave

Hi Dave, I realise that four miles is a lot to ask of a man of your... er... experience! I will check the relative lengths of 'Angels' - I assume they meant the main track. The video is certainly much reduced. Even though the insert states that it runs for 3:16, I doubt if it reached two minutes. Roger

Hi Dave, You may have had a wasted trip, my Tesco's has not got it in the top 20, and they only stock the top 20, so like you I still do not have the single I know the local paper is plugging the single, but it would be nice if there was one left for me somewhere, If I order it on amazon will it count against this weeks figures?
