I have received a response with more information about this concert.

"A fusion of live Opera singers and choreographed horses in unique family event. Starring International sopranos Janis Kelly and Malmfrid Sand.

Plus special guests classical super group “All Angels” with pianist Dominic Carter"

Premier seating (front row) £25
Standard £15
Children £7.50

For tickets, you need to send an e-mail to [e-mail] with your details and she will send you a flyer which you need to fill in and send back with the payment.

It sounds very interesting although as it's not a full All Angels concert I am having second thoughts because of the money ahead of the busy summer schedule. Knowing me though I'd probably still go! ;D

Perhaps I should point out that this event has not yet been fully confirmed by Bedlam Management although I don't believe there is any reason to doubt it will go ahead. It is usually Erica who does the bookings but, for this particular event, it is Steve who is currently on tour in Spain with Nicola Benedetti. I will try to obtain confirmation from him when he returns next week.

Gala Concert at Wormwood Scrubs Pony Centre

In the most unlikely of settings, the most unlikely of concerts - forget everything you think you know about music, singing and horses ­and saddle up and listen up for the annual Horses in Harmony gala concert at the Wormwood Scrubs Pony Centre.

Wormwood Scrubs Pony Centre will be hosting classical supergroup All Angels together with operatic divas Janis Kelly and Malmfrid Sand, and up-and-coming composer Dominic Carter at their annual Horses in Harmony gala fundraising concert. Co-starring roles go to the horses, children and adult riders trained at the Pony Centre.

Performances will include Janis and Malmfrid singing and riding to numbers from the Merry Widow as well as popular classics from well known musicals. The family friendly concert is to be held on Saturday the 21st June 2008. It takes place at the Centre's indoor riding arena which was built through the BBC TV Challenge Anneka programme on Wormwood Scrubs, near Shepherds Bush in West London.

Run by the indomitable Sister Mary Joy Langdon, Wormwood Scrubs Pony Centre works with disabled and disadvantaged London children, providing life changing experiences through horses. The concert raises funds that are crucial for the Centre being able to continue this work. Sister Mary Joy says: "We are absolutely thrilled to have such a fabulous selection of performers this year. This concert is vital to our fundraising efforts, and to have such a great line up is wonderful. We are really grateful for the support of Janis, Dominic, Malmfrid and of course All Angels."

Among the equine stars will be Joey, a 35 year-old piebald Shetland pony who has worked at the Pony Centre since it began 19 years ago; and Storry, a former racehorse who was rescued by the Pony Centre from Southall Market.

The riders will include young people and adults who have been taught to ride at the Pony Centre. Behind the scenes, in the stables, local young people and their instructors will have spent days grooming the ponies and horses for the show and preparing the costumes and equipment.

A regular favourite with English National Opera and presently singing with Grange Park Opera, Soprano Janis Kelly has been a mainstay of the concert for the past seven years, and says: "This extraordinary event helps Wormwood Scrubs Pony Centre make a huge difference to the quality of life for children in London and everyone who has had any connection with it."

"My combined love of music and horses spurred me on with these fundraising concerts, with the impulse from Sister Mary Joy and help from colleagues and friends in the professional music world." This year, Janis's triplet daughters, who were taught to ride at Wormwood Scrubs Pony Centre, will perform in the concert for the first time.

With great appeal to lovers of both equestrianism and music, this unique event promises to be a hugely entertaining family afternoon.

I wish everybody who intends to go a lot of fun. I'm in London at that day but I can't go.
On that day my summer holiday ends and I have to fly home.

A few members have indicated that they might attend this event but I don't think anyone has confirmed if they are definitely going. In that case, I will be the first!

There are now 15 days to go. I hope to see someone there otherwise I'll have four Angels to myself and you wouldn't want that, would you?
