Who's going to this one? I really wish I could go to see Will Martin again and of course to finally meet the girls. I believe that Mary (from HWI) and Chris (from willmartin.net) are both going with VIP tickets. Please tell them I say hi if you meet them Stephany

Hi Stephany,
I will be there and I also have a V.I.P ticket for this one. The only other AAI member I know is going is Becky (beckym82).
I am really looking forward to seeing the girls perform again and I am looking forward to visiting the Minster too. I am planning to make a day of it in York.

Just a quickie (it is almost half 3 in the morning!), the concert was absolutely amazing this evening. The girls voices were perfect throughout and their dresses were stunning too (three dress changes.) I loved their entrance to the concert, singing Steal Away as they arrived down the aisle between the pews. All songs were lovely, including one of my favourites Singing You Through, but i personally think Pie Jesu was the stand alone one for the night. A truly memorable night, the girls were absolutely a joy to meet. Got loads of piccies! I designed and stitched a sampler for them which said All Angels, York Minster, 29.03.08, In Paradisum Deducant Angeli, and included the design/logo from the first album and four silver angel charms. They loved it which was really nice. So, off to bed now i think - very happy with this evening and it definitely won't be the last. Nite!

Hi Everyone,
I have just returned from York after another wonderful concert from All Angels in the wonderful setting of York Minster. I keep saying that the girls keep getting better and better each time I see them but this performance is definitely the best I have seen so far, the acoustics in the Minster were just fantastic and really suited the girls sound.
Here is the set list…
Kathy Leigh Vissi D'arte We’ll Gather Lilacs O Mio Babino Caro
All Angels Steal Away Flower Duet Songbird Make Me A Channel Of Your Piece
Will Martin Into The West Cinema Paradiso
All Angels Sull Aria Barcarole Singing You Through
INTERVAL
All Angels Swing Low Nothing Compares 2 U Pie Jesu
Will Martin Come What May (I think) Going Home
All Angels Angels (with Will Martin on keyboard) The Windmills Of Your Mind In Paradisum
Encore Sound Of Silence
We arrived at the concert while the Minster was still open to the public and while we were waiting inside we had the bonus of hearing the girls rehearsing. As we were at the front of the queue we had the first pick of the seats once we were shown to the V.I.P area at the front, we sat three rows back as the first two rows were reserved for family but the view was excellent.
At the start of the concert we were treated to a few songs by an opera singer called Kathy Leigh. She was fantastic and provided a great start to what was a wonderful evening.
The highlight of the evening for me was Sull Aria, as the girls also acted out roles to the song similar to the opera which was great to watch and you could tell that the girls really enjoyed performing it.
The girls also performed a new song out of sight to the audience, which unfortunately I didn’t quite catch the name of, I’ll be listening out for it at Coventry though.
I was very impressed with Will Martin, I thought he was excellent. He’s got a great voice and wasn’t just singing but playing the keyboard as well. I’m really looking forward to seeing him again in Coventry.
There were a few dress changes. The girls started off in the usual all white, although Daisy’s dress was different to the one she normally wears. For there second appearance in the first half Melanie and Daisy wore red dresses and Charlotte and Laura wore black. They finished off with Daisy wearing dark green, Laura in light green, Melanie in dark blue and Charlotte in light blue (which I do have pictures of).
Overall it was another wonderful concert and a fantastic start for All Angels to their first tour. I can’t wait to see them again at the concert in Coventry on Friday.
I didn’t get any pictures during the concert but I took quite a few afterwards which I will be posting soon…

Hi Dazza Thanks for the report and I'm glad you had a great time. It sounds like the best AA concert ever and makes the St.Pauls cancellation even more disappointing.

Thank you very much for your lovely report, Dazza. I remember visiting York Minster not so long ago and kept thinking how great it would be for a concert. I see that the girls keep improving from concert to concert. I suppose that is because they are gaining confidence? I'm surprised that they didn't sing with Will Martin. But wow, they sang "Angels" with Will playing the keyboard? That must have been very special. I don't know the song "Come what may" though. Looking forward to reading your after-concert report and seeing your pictures! Thanks - Stephany

Hi Stephany,
I definitely think the girls are becoming more confident and it is showing in their performances, their voices are also developing as they get older, along with the way they perform together as they do more and more concerts, fantastic venues such as York Minster really do add more to the performance and occasion too.
Will didn't tell us the name of the song but said that it was from the film 'Moulin Rouge' so unless there is another song on his album which he sings that is from that film then I am certain that it is 'Come What May'. He sung that song whilst playing the keyboard, for 'Going Home' he had a backing track and his other songs he sung to the same string quartet as All Angels with Simon Lole on the keyboard.

Hi Dazza,
Thank you very much for your interesting additional comments. From Moulin Rouge? Oh, I see, it is definitely "Come What May" then. It's a lovely song and I wish it was on his album!
Would you say it was a sell-out?

Hi Stephany,
It wasn't a sell out, and there were still tickets available on the day but there was still a good turn out.

Hi Becky and Dazza, Thanks very much to you both for your reports of last night's event. Becky, your sampler was a very original gift. Do you by any chance have a picture of it that you could post? Dazza, that is a fantastic set list and, as Martin said, it makes it even more disappointing that the London event won't ve going ahead. Overall, it sounds likea fine concert. While it was going on, several of us were seeing Hayley down in Croydon but the York Minster event was mentioned several times throughout the evening. I think we all wished that both events could have been linked by satellite. Bedlam? Are you reading this? Looking forward to seeing these blue and green dresses! Roger
