Today Mark Goodyer played 'Windmills Of Your Mind', so he is certainly showing All Angels' versatility this week. To keep on topic, I hope they make No.1 in the classical charts next week. Good luck girls! ;D Richard

Hello again folks! Mark Goodyer played 'Angels' this morning, and that concluded the All Angels sessions after Pause for Thought on Radio 2 this week. I'm sure every play helps to promote the girls and the album. Richard

Hi Drew, I think the reason they did not mention Hayley is that they were knocking the competition, as Hayley is with UCJ it would be a bit of an own goal to knock Hayley! I might be wrong of course, but that is how I see it. Cheers Steve H That's a very interesting point Steve. Peter S.

Here are the early but official pop album chart positions today ( updated with sales in brackets) 1 (NE) WESTLIFE (219,662) 2 (NE) OASIS (213,289) 3 (NE) BEATLES (173,517) 4 (NE) U2 (101,083) 10 (05) ANGELIS (39,463) 11 (06) KATHERINE JENKINS (38,043) 13 (NE) FRON MALE VOICE CHOIR (35,762) 19 (09) ALL ANGELS (26,857)So the most boring new pop album gets the no. 1 and the most boring classical crossover album (Angelis) is (still) highest too. However, the top 4 achieved huge sales of the kind only normally seen in the US and in most other weeks, any of the 4 would have been top by a long way. So, the hype wins and the music loses? Angelis are not counted as classical though I think the Fron Choir will be so the new Classical Artist chart (probably next week's Classic FM chart too) will be: 1. (01) Katherine 2. (NE) Fron 3. (02) All Angels. Edit - I've just added exact sales figures for last week and as you can see, Fron beat All Angels' sales total from last week. And it looks like their album may be their debut album - even though they were formed nearly 60 years ago ! Therefore, if it is their debut album, they are now the all-time fastest-selling debut classical album, replacing all Angels. However, if true, All Angels now have an unbeatable record - the shortest reign as all-time fastest-selling debut classical album (1 week!) so well done All Angels - you are now unbeatable!!! Cheers, Dave

I think it's time for a charts and sales update! All Angels chart positions each week since it was released have been: 9 - 19 - 26 - 31 (31 is today's) which may not look very good but in fact, it is better than it looks! As you can see, its rate of decline has been slowing and a 5 place drop at this time of year is nothing. It also disguises something of a recovery this week - I managed to get midweek chart positions for it. On Tuesday it was no. 37 then on Friday it was no. 33 with sales 0.3% UP on the week before and by today it had recovered to no. 31 with sales UP by 3.6% on the week to 30,469 so it had its 2nd best sales week. Total over the counter sales to date are 120,000 so that's well past the Gold standard and counting! Keep them thar adverts going, UCJ - it's working!!! Cheers, Dave PS: Fron Male voice Choir are demolishing everything classical in the charts - they remain at no. 9 and sold an incredible 73,248 copies last week - classical chart will be: 1. Fron, 2. Katherine 3. All Angels.

Thanks for the chart news, Dave. Hopefully, the recovery in the second half of this week will continue. Then, they may be helped on Friday by their appearance on 'The Wright Stuff' on Channel 5.

Hmmmmm 9 19 26 31 Might stick those lines on The Lotto!!! Maybe The Angels can be lucky for me!!! Seriously though, despite what position in the charts The Angels are at, there is no getting away from just how succesful their debut album has been!!! I for one am glad to own it, and to be a part of their support!!!! Well Done All Angels!!!

Hello everyone,
Here is what happened in Christmas week in the charts.
All Angels went UP two places in the official pop album chart, from 39 to 37. The number of albums sold was an incredible 44,634 in the week (for an album in the 30s) which is 10,000 more than they heve ever sold in a week before. The total sales are now 197,000 over the counter so by the end of the year, they will almost certainly have exceeded 200,000 sales.
It also pretty well guarantees that All Angels will be entered for the 2007 Classical Album of the Year as it's usually the top 10 new "classical chart" albums that qualify and I think All Angels will be 4th or 5th.
Incidentally, The Fron Male Voice Choir sold a staggering 113,000 copies last week (no. 13 in the pop chart) taking their total to 362,000 - surging way past Katherine Jenkins and (the non-classical) Angelis by nearly 30,000 copies in the process. Fron Choir are now, I think, uncatchable for the top selling classical album of the year. However, this will not necessarily show when Classic FM play the Classic FM Chart of the Year on Saturday as often, they do not include Christmas week in their figures. If they do use the out of date chart, Katherine will (wrongly) be top.
Cheers, Dave

Well, I'm surprised at upstaging Dave, but maybe he'll post simultaneously or shortly with far more authoritative detail.
Having just posted on HWI, I thought I'd drop across to here. No.1 for the year at Classicfm is KJ.
You girls, you have a super start for the New Year: you've made it to No.4 for 2006 (classic fm charts) and seeing you only started in the last quarter of the year I reckon that's a jolly fine achievement. Well done all of you!
Hayley came No.7 but then she's due for a new release and her Odyssey was split into 2 editions which I think was a mistake.
Happy and Successful New Year Girls. God Bless Hou.
Peter S.

Congratulations Charlotte, Daisy, Laura and Melanie! :applaud: :applaud: :applaud: :applaud: Your achievement is even more remarkable considering it is now only 14 weeks since your first public live appearance at Cadogan Hall on 23rd September. That was only 99 days before the end of this year, so I'm sure you'll be flying even higher in 2007! Lots of love to you all, Richard xxxx
